still experimenting with the palette knife plein air stuff. this is fish-food factory here in Murray. about an hour.5 on site, and about 45 of digital on top of it. i'm really looking for input related to color space, receding space, and found and lost edges.

I'm just delving into color space and edges so i cant be much help their. but there are some comp changes that could push that space more. the way the subject fills the space has an effect of cramping the space out of the frame. opening the comp up a little more would give you an opportunity to portray 1 or 2 tight edged objects in the fore and some more obvious structure or tree in the background.
I'm still reminded of Feininger. Did you ever check him out? It's more like Vince said though, where the space around it becomes a more integral part of the comp.
I've sat in my car and drawn this same thing, I think. By the tracks, right? And it has a picture of a fish one the west side?
i see what you guys mean. i definitely neglected the context of the space around the factory.
it reads like a building study instead of an environment.
Tyler: yep, that one. i said 'fish food,' but it's cat-food, made from fish.
i'm not too much of a fan of Feininger. like his colors, dig his lighting, but the cubist thing really turns me off.
