Hallway

Any advice before I start painting will be appreciated. I am leaving for a week next week so I'm not sure when it will be done but I'll post it when it is.

Make sure the perspective is where you want; right now, because the baseboards are at a steeper angle than the crown moulding, it looks like we are closer to the cieling. In the photo, our heads are halfway up.

It might be interesting to exagerate one way or the other, like be down by the floor. Just an idea.

Be concerned with all of the formal elements since this is such an abstract image: The hard edges, high contrast, warmer color, and geometry of the top half VS the soft, low contrast, cooler color and organic feel of the bottom.

Also, think about where the division of those two things take place; moving the base of the chairs up or down as to not divide the plane in half might be a good idea. Your perspective I mentioned above will come into play in this decision.

i second that.
you're warms and cool will be incredibly important because this image is largely a color study.

and like Tyler said, the perspective in the drawing is way different than the photo. i also think it might make the image more interesting to push it to look as if the POV is higher up, like our head is a foot from the ceiling. push it to get some interest out of it, like a clear amount of space above or below the viewer's POV.
leaving it ambiguously in the middle makes it boring and kills your composition.

i'm looking forward to seeing some interpretation slapped on this.
