A finished piece...

I feel pretty good about how this turned out.  I think I brought a focus to the tank upfront with a little color shift to a greener hue to separate it from the other tanks/objects.  I also tried to up the mark making and strengthen the edges and detail in this tank. Feels like I'm making some strides forward.  Let me know what you think.  I'm excited to get to the next one.

Definitely a new level for you. Keep em comin'. I'm especially drawn to the texture in the snow and the reflection of the melted water.

Weathering of the metal is nice, but here's another element: Textural brush strokes, but then using glazing just to add components - like rust. Then, you have the thick paint and the thin working with/complimentary to each other.

Great job.

Thanks. I'm glad overall the piece has been well received. I was worried the subject matter wouldn't interest anyone. It gives me more comfort in doing a whole series of industrial pieces. Someone might even want one. :)

I'll have to give glazing a go. I haven't done any of that lately. The one thing that's hard is then you have to go and varnish the whole piece so those glaze areas don't look off. Glossy spots over a matte piece.

I love architectural design. I especially like the water tank(?) on the left as it is set apart. The colors of the whole piece are interesting, yet industrial.
