I've been experiementing, I'm not going to explain what these are. Just beat them up please.

If these were complete they both lack some kind of focal point. Nothing stands out overly strong to say what they are about.

Is there a reason for the haze over the bottom of the top piece and the top of the bottom piece?

I like the comp in the bottom piece but I don't know what else to say at this stage

i agree with Brandt. they just seem unfinished, so it's hard to pick a point to critique. they just seem like 50% something...

i like the desaturated palette, but you'll need be keen on value contrast. they will definitely need strong contrasting visual moves whither it be hard/soft, light/dark, etc. so that the whole thing doesn't just end up being bla.

I actually think these are a really good start. I like the softness and the muted palette; on the bottom it works in especially well with the subject matter.

You just need to work it up. As you go, perhaps upping saturation and viscosity just a tad as tools of refinement.
