Here are the four latest paintings I've done. I'm working on a companion piece for the top one. I'll post it soon.

Brandt,

The surface on the brown insulator is amazing, as well as the hand rendering.

A couple of criticisms:

I don't mind the plain white background on the top piece at all; it works pretty well. But the termination at the wrist is bothering me for some reason. It either needs to fade smoother or be cropped totally. The termination on the second piece makes better sense with the subject matter.

Your greens on the slide lake piece seem little strong. Have you tried hitting the trees with a complement, say a sienna, either before or after the green layer? I think this might warm them up a little.

Good job on the show BTW. Your new pieces looked great.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep that in mind on future work. I don't know what I'd do on the top piece with the wrist. I have the other piece planned in the same way. I'll have to sketch some thumbnails again and play w/ it. The slide lake piece photographed a little greener than it appears but maybe you can take a look at the original w/ me and suggest some things.
