Upcoming Show

Okay, so this probably would be better broken up into different posts, but stay with me guys.  I've got a space in the gallery walk this Friday.  All of these pieces will be in it.  Take a quick scan and let me know what you think.  Both general feedback about the show as a whole and more specific ones about individual paintings will be much appreciated.

As always, thanks guys!

Hey Y'all!

Don't mind the southern accent.  Everyone knows I don't actually have one.

Anyway...on to more important things...

Weston Inn is looking for someone to show work in their business during the Logan's Fall Gallery Walk (Sept 17th).  Call Todd at (435) 752-5700 ASAP to get your show booked!   The AVA's calling around to find someone, and I've texted everyone I had in my phone, so it's first-come-first-serve.  Go at it!  This is a great location right in the hub of the gallery walk activity.

P.S.  I'm showing that night in the Logan Arthouse, so everyone please come see what I've been working on. :)

What's Been Keeping Me Up Late At Night...

Alright, I'm still not lovin' this one completely, but I could have just stared at it way too much.  It's the story of discovering something for the very first time.  You know.  Like finally "getting" algebra or geometry...or maybe understanding the world in a different way...like what always happens when I travel.

And yes.  There's fish inside the bubbles.  Don't look too deeply into it.  I just like fish.  They're much easier to see up close.

Anyway, this needs to be done by this Friday.  Let me know your thoughts asap.  Thanks.

Title-less for the moment

The general idea was tube socks.  I wanted to paint tube socks, so tube socks were painting...the end.  But the rest of it evolved as a sort of commentary of a girl, dull and bored and taking a serious look at all the mundane things that fill her life.  Why is she standing on water?  Don't ask me.  I'm still figuring that one out.

Okay, so the photo is ugly and not photo-shop fixed at all, but all that aside, please take a look and let me know your thoughts.  Main question: should I finish the water-"reflection" area?  There's a lot of underpainting showing through, but I'm feeling particularly lazy right now...and I kind of have a strange love for underpaintings.  There.  I've admitted it.  Anyway, tips, anyone?

Here it is with some darker cooler shadows and other small changes most notably the background. Thanks for the suggestions. And if there are any others post them.

This is an underpainting w/ some drawing issues on the left side which I'm aware of. Any suggestions for a palette on this piece? I did this b/c I was struggling to figure the mixing out. I left out the insulators on purpose also.
