As per Brandt's request, I am posting this latest one I'm working on, part of the show I will have out here in Albany next Spring.
I'm usually self-depreciating when it comes to my work, but not so with this one. Everything seems to be clicking, and I'm really figuring out what is working best for me. I'm questioning one thing, but I'd like to see what you guys say about it.
It's not a great pic. I usually shoot outside for best results, but the weather here hasn't been optimal. I just rigged up a stage for still life photoing in my room, and purchased a few 5,000 kelvin, 900 lumen bulbs. I'm still trying to figure it out, as you can see (glare, fish eye), but at least the temp seems to be working.
Yes, the last leaf is yet to be done.

Thanks for posting.
Tyler I agree this piece is worth being proud of.
The third leaf really jumps off the page and I think you could maybe tone it down just a touch if you want it to be more connected to the remaining leaves. Or leave it and make people think it's crawling closer.
The color and feel is rockin. Sometimes your cools haven't felt right and here they are working.
I want it pending nothing important comes up like having to pay for rent and food.
This is awesome! I agree with Brandt that the best leaf is awesome but is not consistent with the others. It has a lot more contrast. Maybe if you do the last leaf very nearly as high contrast as that leaf, but not as much, it will create a hierarchy. Like you have a focal point, then the amount of contrast dictates the order in which you look at the leaves. Make sense?
That, of course, was the problem. I believe I fixed it, but I tried to take a current pic and it's not working right now. Anyway, on to another piece. Thanks guys.
