So I got a booth at Summerfest here in Logan this summer. I wanted to pump out some sellable stuff. I had a bunch of eggshells I wanted to paint; this is what I put together.
The back of the bowl is getting a lot of glare; its value is much lower.
this looks really good! the perspective makes it one of your most dynamic compositions. its got a really good balance between texture and the open bright spaces on the egg shells. those reflections in the varnish really add a 'living' kind of moment. i think its a really good 'themed' image, hopefully that will sell well.
it looks great. my eye kind of gets stuck on the pan. i think you should emphasize the front garlic. maybe by adding a little weight to it in the shadow or something. if that is even making sense. I love the lose marks on the left side of the garlic. i wouldn't touch those they look so great!
when I stood away from my monitor I felt like the front garlic stood out well, and maybe a better solution would be glazing the inside wall of the pan. so it recedes a little more. a glaze on the whole pan might be beneficial. not sure. but i think glazing the back, inner wall would be quite helpful.
Also - side note. i cropped you painting into some small compositions that i think might look nice with your painting if you're looking for some more composition ideas. I'm not suggestion you cut your painting. just for future painting ideas. if you're trying to sell these. just an idea.
i'm retarded. i just read the text above the post. i'd probably revoke my comments if i saw it in real life without the glair. except the part where i said i think it looks great.

Wow! The realism is pretty dramatic. Ditto Geoff's comment.
